Heavy monsoonal rains in Myanmar’s central and western states have caused flooding and landslides. Over 27 people have died so far, and the death-toll is likely to rise as the water recedes and the true extent of damage is realised.
Entrust has three implementing partners working in the affected states, and is channelling money to these partners to assist with emergency relief – food, shelter and clothing.
Update Friday 7 August
We have closed our donations, having received our target, and have sent off funds! Our partners inform us that water has started to subside and they are now able to start assessing the true extent of the damage. One partner is distributing food, but also looking to repair water sources, as one of the biggest risks from flooding is diseases from unclean water.
