Opportunity

An insight into a Governance Board for a NFP organisation working in 12 nations, as Jesus’ hands and feet. Exposure to the high-level workings of a board and the deliberations and discussions of the Directors, members, sub committees and executive staff while undertaking the important role of capturing the essential information of a meeting.

The right candidate will also be offered the opportunity to attend an Investment and Project subcommittee meeting, as an observer, for further awareness into the workings of our unique charitable aid and relief model.

Role Description

 Your position will be to accurately take the minutes of the Board meetings by recording key decisions, discussion items and actions arising in a clear, concise, and timely manner.

  • The Board of Directors meet quarterly, on a Thursday evening from circa 6.00 pm to 9.30 pm at our office in Blackburn, Victoria.
  • The AGM is generally held in conjunction with a regular board meeting on an evening in late November.
  • An annual board and executive planning day is held in the first quarter of the year on a Saturday.
  • Extraordinary meetings are held occasionally.

Light meals are served at all meetings.

Term of Office

A minimum commitment of one year is requested with approximately 8-10 hours per quarter required.

Requirements

  • Receive and review prepared board pack
  • Attend board meetings in person (Blackburn, Victoria)
  • Record minutes and transcribe into the standard MS Word template for Chair review and undertake amendments as required
  • Distribution of minutes as required by the Chair
  • Understanding of and commitment to, the organisations mission and values
  • To maintain confidentiality in all matters discussed and agreed to at meetings
