Overview:
India is experiencing a humanitarian crisis like no other. Our local partners work with some of the poorest and most marginalised members of the community. Northern states have been driving COVID-19 cases up with 50+ million devotees recently attending religious festivals. Hospital beds are overrun, oxygen is scarce and people are dying from COVID-19 at rates unseen elsewhere in the world. Bodies are being burned on highways as every crematorium is full, and despite all this, the peak is yet to come.

Diagnosed cases of COVID-19 sit above 20 million people with around 400,000 new infections per day. Our local partners are caring for families who have lost loved ones, who are treating their own sick family members at home and do not know what they will eat tomorrow. Most have lost their jobs and access to care and food has become an impossible task.
Food parcels and treatment packs will allow families to stay at home whilst COVID-19 continues to ravage their communities. They will provide an immediate lifeline in these desperate circumstances.
